Jutta Product Oy

Jutta Product Oy on lastentuotteita valmistava perheyritys, joka maahantuo, markkinoi, tuotekehittelee, suunnittelee ja valmistaa lastenvaatteita ja -tarvikkeita. Taustalla ovat ekologiset ja kestävän kehityksen laaja-alaisen määrittelyn mukaiset tuotteet. Toiminta alkoi toiminimellä Jutta Design 17 vuotta sitten. Jutta Design on edelleen toiminnassa ja vastaa pienemmistä valmistuskokonaisuuksista.

Tuotemerkkimme ovat PILVI ja Jutta. Tuotteemme suunnitellaan Hyvinkäällä ja suunnittelun päämääränä ovat kauniit, hauskat, mukavat, helpot, laadukkaat ja ennen kaikkea materiaaleiltaan mahdollisimman kemikaalivapaat ja ihoystävälliset tuotteet. 

Kaikki tuotteemme on valmistettu reilun kaupan periaatteiden mukaisesti. Suomessa valmistetut tuotteemme valmistetaan Hyvinkäällä.Tuotteemme ovat aina huolella suunniteltuja, ekologisia ja eettisiä.

Jutta Design on Plan-kummi ja toimittaa vaatteita lapsille, jotka ovat heikoimmassa asemassa. Vuonna 2014 lastentuotteita toimitettiin Sambiaan henkilökohtaisesti kolme kertaa. Toiveissamme on jatkaa vastaavaa toimintaa myös tulevaisuudessa.

Periaatteena on, että terveydelle haitallisia  SVHC aineita (formaldehydiä, flataatteja.) ei käytetä lainkaan. Arvojemme mukaiseen laatuun sisältyy vastuu ihmisoikeuskysymyksistä, luonnon- tai eläinsuojelullisia arvoja. Se ei ole vain tuotteen ulkoasuun, ompelutyön laatuun ja laadunvalvonnan tiukkuuteen liittyvää. Arvojemme mukaisesti toimimme ystävällisesti, kunniottavasti ja loukkaamatta ketään kaikessa toiminnassamme.

Teemme hankintoja vain luotettavilta tahoilta ja pitkäaikaisilta liikekumppaneilta joita tapaamme säännöllisesti. Se tarkoittaa sitä, että ne kenen kanssa olemme lähteneet yhteystyöhön ovat omanneet luotettavat referenssit sekä laadullisesti, ekologisesti, että sosiaalisen vastuun osalta. Ensimmäiset yhteystyökumppanit Jutta Designilla oli 17 v sitten olivat Intiassa ja  Egyptissä. (molemmat GOTS sertifoituja). Valmistimme sekä luomupuuvillaisia kankaita, joista valmistimme tuotteita Hyvinkäällä sekä joitakin valmiita tuotteita. Valmistusta on aina ollut sekä Suomessa että ulkomailla.

Meillä on käytössä omavalvonta ja meillä on toimintaamme tukemassa ’Code of Conduct’ jota alihankkijamme noudattavat. Toimintaa pyritään parantamaan yhdessä alihankkijoiden kanssa. Valvomme vastuullisuutta tutustumalla alihankkijoihin itse, käyttämällä kansainvälisten laboratorioiden palveluja sekä sertifioinnneilla GOTS, Amfori BSCI, SMETA ect. Kaikkeen tuotantoon käytämme sertioituja valmistusprosesseja sekä laboratoriokokeita varmistamaan tuotteen korkean laadun. Kaikki ulkomailla valmistetut luomupuuvillatuotteet ovat GOTS sertifioituja. Kotimaan valmistuksessa on luomupuuvilla sertifoitua kangasta. Raaka-aineiden ja komponenttien osalta meillä pätee samat periaatteet.

Emme ole vielä Amfori BSCI jäsenenä johtuen siitä, että olemme pienyritys, mutta todennäköisesti pääsemme mukaan jo vuoden alkupuoliskolla, jolloin meillä on mahdollisuus myös itse pyytää ko auditointia. Päässemme myös UN Global Compact jäseneksi, kun he ottavat mukaan pienyritykset. Vuonna 2019 se ei vielä ole ollut mahdollista.

Sosiaaliseen vastuullisuuteen liittyy paljon haasteita.  Maissa joissa ei olisi työlainsäädännön sopimuksia, on ILON periaatteet kirjattava työntekijöitä koskevaan sopimukseen erikseen. Jutta Jantunen on johtanut ILON työllisyyttä ja kestävää kehitystä edistävää projektia mm. Sambiassa ja haasteet ovat kehitysmaassa valtaisat. Rakenteelliset ja koulutukselliset ongelmat ja standardien ja infrastruktuurin puutteellisuus.

Jutta Product Oy:n toimintaperiaatteet alihankkijoiden kanssa – Kestävän kehityksen vastuu

Social and environmental responsibility, production free of harmful substancies

 Jutta Product Oy strives to ensure that business relationships are conducted in a professional and ethical manner at all times with the view of continuous improvement. 

Social responsibility refers to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Children’s Rights and Business Principles, UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines, UN Global Compact and International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions and Recommendations relevant to improve working conditions in the supply chain. This code of vendor conduct applies to all business partners that produce goods for Jutta Product Oy.

This code sets forth the basic requirements that Jutta Product Oy business partners must meet in order to do business. Domestic laws must be obayed and whereby the laws and regulations are in conflict, Jutta Product Oy is to seek ways to abide by the principles that provide the highest protection to the workers and environment Jutta Product Oy will prevent and address any adverse human rights impacts that may be detected in the supply chain.

The code of conduct follows the idea of constant improvement and is based on collaboration. Updated improvements on the below issues by ILO or other organizations are to be taken into consideration continuously. This code of Conduct is to be updated continously and new issues will be brought to discussion with collaboration parties. Jutta Product Oy is committed to not pressure the collaboration parties with schedule requirements that might conflict with human rights. It is recognized internationally, that schedule that is not inline with the resourcies of the factory, may cause stressful labour conditions. Collaboration parties are expected to follow the agreed schedule. The resourcies of the factory are taken into consideration in the schedule agreement. The minimum principles recognized by ILO are to be met, even if the nation has not signed ILO agreement.

Health and Safety
Business partners must provide a safe and healthy workplace that complies with all applicable local laws or international standards where legislation is weak.

Workers must be provided with a clean, safe, and healthy work environment. Business partners who provide residential facilities for their workers must also provide safe and healthy residential facilities in compliance with these standards. Business partners shall detect risks and detect measures to prevent accidents, injuries or illnesses, arising from, associated with, or occurring during work. Vulnerable individuals should receive special protection. The aims should be to minimize the causes of hazards inherent within the workplace. Insurance schemes are advisable. Workers must be free to exit the premises from imminent danger, must have adequate occupational medical assistance and related facilities and access to drinking water, and effective Personal Protective Equipment free of charge.

Management
Business partners must have follow ethical management practices. Workers and their representatives should be in sound information exchange on workplace issues and to make workers aware of their rights and responsibilities. Workers shall be treated with respect at all times. Operational levels should establish grievance mechanisms for individuals and communities who may be adversely impacted.

Education
Business partners must build competence amongst all employers by education and training at each level of work is essential to particularly with regard to Occupational Health and Safety.

The rights of Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
The business partners shall respect this principle by allowing workers to freely elect their own representatives with whom the company can enter into dialogue about workplace issues. In countries where Union activity is lawful, it must be allowed in a democratic way without discriminating and with the right to bargain collectively and giving the workers representatives the access to interaction with them.

Forced Labor
Business partners must not use forced, compulsory, or prison labor.

Child Labour
Business partners must comply with all applicable child labour laws. Business partners shall not employ children below 15 with exceptions by ILO. Employment must not be desrespectful. Workers under the age of 18 shall not perform duties that may jeopardize their health or safety. Special care is to be taken on the occasion of the dismissal of children

Discrimination
Business partners must not discriminate in employment practices including recruitment, hiring, compensation, training, benefits, advancement, termination or retirement on the basis of race, colour, ancestry, gender, martial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religion, political affiliation or opinion, social background, membership in unions or any other legitimated organisations, family responsibilities, marital status, diseases or any other condition or any other personal characteristic or belief.

Hours of Work
Business partners must comply international framework set out by the ILO and further more must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards relating to hours of work, with exception of compensated overtime in compliance with local laws. In basic, the workers shall not be required to work more than 48 regular hours per week, with the exceptions specified by the ILO. The use of overtime should be exceptional should not significantly risk the likelihood of occupational hazards, should be voluntary, and paid at a premium rate of not less than one and one-quarter times the regular rate and shall not represent a significantly higher likelihood of occupational hazards. The workers must be allowed to resting breaks in every working day and the right to at least one day off in every seven days, unless exceptions defined by collective agreements apply.

Harassment and Abuse
Business partners must treat workers with respect and dignity and must not utilize corporal punishment or any other type of physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse against their employees.

Wage and Benefits
Business partners must provide wages and benefits in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, or approved industry standards on the basis of collective bargaining, whichever is higher. Jutta Product Oy shall encourage business partners to commit to the betterment of wage and benefit levels that address the basic needs of workers and their families.

Payment of wages must be in line with ILO specifications, basically regularly in timely manner and fully. The level of wages is to reflect the skills and education of workers and shall refer to regular working hours. Deductions will be permitted only under the conditions and to the extent prescribed by law or fixed by collective agreement.

Environmental Standards
Business partners must adhere to all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations regarding the protection and preservation of the environment.

Animal rights
Production must not conflict with animal rights. Production must follow the ethical, animal friendly alternatives according to most resent studies and findings.

Laws and Regulations
Our business partners must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws, standards, and regulations relevant to the conduct of their business.

Monitoring and Compliance
Jutta Product Oy reserves the right to conduct announced and unannounced inspections of all manufacturing facilities. Business partners should ensure that the requirements in this code are understood and implemented at every level, and must maintain all documentation necessary to compliance with the Jutta Product Oy code of conduct. Business partners must allow representatives of Jutta Product Oy full access to facilities, documents, and workers. Business partners must submit an improvement plan to address any issues of noncompliance that may be found during inspections. Jutta Product Oy reserves the right to terminate its business relationship.
